Welcome to MetroGuide.Network's Sacramento DiningGuide, a directory of restaurants and related restaurant information for Metropolitan Sacramento, California. Use MetroGuide's DiningGuide service to find Sacramento restaurants by location or cuisine.

As the capital for sprawling California and a gateway to Gold Country, Sacramento supports assorted American, Italian, and Mexican outposts, plus numerous enclaves specializing in sophisticated Continental, French, and California cuisine. The region also is known for Grass Valley's pastries, sensational flaky crusts stuffed with meat and vegetables from recipes brought over by 19th-century Cornish gold miners. From burger joints and steakhouses to seafood venues, Greater Sacramento with a population of some two million has its share of chains, some with notable locations. Joe's Crab Shack, for instance, sticks out over the Sacramento River with a prime view of the landmark Tower Bridge. The Fox & Goose Public House is popular for pub grub suppers or breakfasts of kippers or crumpets. For Chinese fare, lawmakers, lobbyists and bureaucrats head to Frank Fat's, the capital city's oldest eating establishment, known for banana cream pie and brandy-fried chicken. The Fat family has expanded regionally with other eateries from Fat's Asia Bistro and Dim Sum Bar in Roseville and the Fat City Steakhouse to a Kung Fu Fats Express on California State's Sacramento campus. In Old Sacramento, The Firehouse -- the original "Sacramento No. 3" where Ronald Reagan staged both of his gubernatorial inaugural dinners -- attracts with décor reminiscent of the Gold Rush Era and fare from herb-infused cheeseburgers and chutney-topped antelope to Potato Patch Halibut.

DiningGuide Sacramento is part of MetroGuide Sacramento, offering guides to shopping, hotels and more for the entire region.
